A group of Cambridge mathematicians has discovered what all of us have known for quite some time — that Jessica Alba has the world’s sexiest wiggle.

I’m not joking. This was an actual study carried out by real Cambridge academics — and it wasn’t some office opinion poll, either. The mathaletes figured out that the wiggle in a woman’s walk is determined by the ratio between her hips and waist. Apparently when you divide your waist measurement by your hip measurement, you’re looking for a ratio as close to 0.7 as possible (this will produce the most angular — and therefore the most alluring — swagger).

So, a woman — like Jessica Alba — with a 25in waist and 36in hips has the ideal shape to pull off a sultry swing as she walks.

Of all the academic studies that take place every year, this is clearly one of the most important.
