According to this AOL article, Stephen Colbert has picked a running mate for his “presidential run”. In keeping with his presidential theme of the ludicrous, the person in question is Senator Larry Craig, who is being investigated for a sex scandal in an airport men’s room.
The concept of a celebrity running a fake campaign for public office is nothing new. Howard Stern did a brief run for governor a few years ago. Ronald Reagan, a former actor, became president and Fred Thompson seems to be trying to follow in his footsteps.
