I’ve been a fan of Tyne Daly going back to her Cagney & Lacey days. I loved that show! It kind of made me want to be a cop - for about three minutes anyway.

So I was ultra excited when I heard she would be playing McDreamy’s mom on Grey’s Anatomy. Isabelle posted a spoiler about it last week. Apparently, Tyne will be playing Derek’s mom, Carolyn, who travels to Seattle to meet Meredith for the first time. You know, I can really see her as Derek’s mom. That’s good casting.

I’ve got a little clip below from Access Hollywood, but first, let me sing Tyne’s praises for a minute. Here’s a woman who never really fit into the Hollywood “mold” (i.e. blonde and/or thin and/or a party animal), and that’s probably why she’s been working steadily in the entertainment industry for some 50 years. Yes, on her IMDB page, her first credit was “girl” in a TV show called Foreign Intrigue in 1954. She went on to do bit parts in dozens of TV shows until landing the role of Detective Mary Beth Lacey in Cagney & Lacey from 1982 to 1988.

It’s Adidas’ 60th anniversary and the brand is having a party — on TV at least — and the guest of honor is Adidas Originals. The German athletic apparel giant is giving its lifestyle brand, Originals, its first U.S. TV advertising ever: A 30-second spot featuring music stars like Katy Perry, DMC (of Run-DMC) and Method Man cavorting with sports phenoms David Beckham and Kevin Garnett.

Man, I’ve finally sorted through all of my confusion (how embarrassing … ) about how Lily and Marshall on How I Met Your Mother actually aren’t pregnant at all; rather, actress Alyson Hannigan is expecting in real life with her husband, Alexis Denisof of Buffy and Angel fame.

And now, this news comes across my screen? How am I to believe that the writers of How I Met Your Mother actually thought it was a good idea for Lily and Robin to be pregnant at the same time? Nevertheless, it’s true, because People Magazine is reporting that Robin is pregnant.

So what’s the deal? Is it Barney’s baby? Now there’s a real twist, and it was all foreshadowed in “Not a Father’s Day” with Robin and Barney being so sweet on the sock…. What’s that, you say? Robin isn’t pregnant? You say Cobie Smulders, the actress who plays Robin, is expecting? I’m sure I can figure this out …

hey hey! below you’ll find the brand new cover of STAR magazine - out early this week because of the holiday (i’m thrilled to have two whole days off from work (plus the weekend) which only happens like once a year) the main story is about hollywood bodyguards supposedly telling all (wouldn’t it be hilarious if they tried to pin all of those bullet points below the headline on oprah winfrey?!?) i love the picture of britney spears - it’s a throwback to her crazy days - which i do miss sometimes (they were like the golden days of celebrity blogging - each & everyday there was something wacky going on with her for quite a spell) but obviously she was in a very bad place and i’m thrilled she’s on the brink of a huge comeback! (although the blurb below paints a different (and smelly) portrait - it’s all a little too much information for me - especially the last part - yuck - i hope it’s not true!) popbytes over & out for tonight…xoxo

A source close to one of her bodyguards tells Star that her Brit’s diet consists mostly of “Taco Bell and turkey jerky washed down with Red Bull.” And she often doesn’t keep it down. “She throws up after meals, both at home and at restaurants,” says the insider, “and she isn’t very discreet about it. People around her think she’s bulimic.”



The pop star who has a history of battling that eating disorder, is also “taking diet pills,” according to another insider close to Britney’s employees. “They’re like diuretics. She has to go to the bathroom constantly. It just runs right through her. And everyone knows she still throws up when she’s eaten too much. You can smell it in the bathroom.” SOURCE

(S07E21) In the grand tradition of Dancing With The Stars, everyone came together for the glorious task of turning 3 minutes of results into a two hour ratings bonanza. If you have seen the finale before, you know how it all went down. Take a couple of musical numbers, interviews or dances with all the eliminated contestants, and add in a whole lot of replays as the show looks back at all that has gone on. It’s not the greatest recipe for a two hour show, but after 20 episodes of top ten numbers, I suppose they’ve earned it. I’ll not spoil the big surprise before the jump, so hit the link for a brief look at all that went on, and to find out who took home the mirrorball.
