Jumpin’ J.Lo: The singer’s fashion no-no. Photo: John Parra/WireImage.com The usually glam Jennifer Lopez turned heads (for the wrong reasons) in a poorly fitted denim jumpsuit at the Miami Dolphins game this past Sunday — which means she’s either raided Dolly Parton’s closet circa 1976 or hasn’t realized that “Hee Haw” is no longer on the air. Though the Daily Mail claims that the all-in-one outfit “hugged J.Lo’s famous curves in all the right places,” we think this denim dud illustrates just how tricky the jumpsuit trend can be to pull off (not to mention trying to use the bathroom). So what do the experts say? “For winter, jumpsuits are a great way to update your wardrobe and are also perfect for all those lazy dressers — all you need is a one-piece,” says Ashlan Gorse of E! News. “But sometimes jumpsuits can be very tricky to pull off if you don’t get one that fits you right or have the right accessories.” Case in point? Rihanna, who looks “sophisticated and fresh,” according to Gorse, thanks to her chic accessories and closed-toe pump. Molly Sims, meanwhile, made a fashion faux pas in her jumpsuit because, as Gorse notes, “her tall model frame is cut off by the wide pants.” We know what you’re thinking — if a supermodel can’t work this trend, what chance have the rest of us got? There, there. StyleList turned to fashion expert Jeannie Mai, host of “How Do I Look?” and correspondent for “Extra,” for tips on wearing jumpsuits to perfection.
A flattering version of the jumpsuit, from Black Halo. Photo: Shopbop.com 1. Look for jumpsuits with a blend of spandex or silk. These fabrics are more forgiving to skim the body, and portray a more elegant and fresh appeal than the structured jumpsuits of yesterday. 2. Find a jumpsuit that is thin in fabric so that it doesn’t create a boxy shape to your figure, and can be worn layered with pieces for warmth, or decorated with key jewelry and heels for spring. 3. Get professionally fitted for a terrific strapless bra (if needed). Otherwise be sure your bra cups are filled properly by adjusting the straps. 4. Don’t buy jumpsuits that are heavy in fabric. Jumpsuits can immediately pack on the pounds if it doesn’t skim the body. 5. Have the jumpsuit hemmed with your desired heels on. 6. Purchase a size where the key areas (bust, waist, hips or in the hem) do not bunch or drag. 7. At the same time do not buy jumpsuits that pull or restrict your body from moving! Buying too small could, too, make your figure appear larger. 8. Depending on the weather, jumpsuits can be worn alone or paired with thick cropped jackets to soft dainty cardigans. Add ankle or knee-high boots for warmth, and strappy sandals for summer and spring. Now that you’ve mastered the jumpsuit trend, learn how to wear sequins. Filed under: Video, Celebrities Hugh Jackman has come a long way since he played Curly McLain in a TV version of Oklahoma in 1999. Now we know the Aussie star mainly for his work in movies like X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Australia, and Van Helsing, but early in his career, he earned a communications degree with a journalism major from the University of Technology Sydney. Fortunately for us, he went on to pursue drama at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, then met his future wife Deborra-Lee Furness while starring in the ABC prison drama Correlli. How do I know all this? Because Biography did a show on him and told us all there is to know about Hugh Jackman. Ok, maybe not ALL there is to know, but enough to get a behind-the-scenes look at the guy who would go on to become famous for his spiky hands and song-and-dance numbers while hosting awards shows. Here’s a look at the episode straight from our sister site, SlashControl.

On January 4, 2010, All My Children will turn 40 years old. In honor of the event, the celebration will be stretched over two days, Monday and Tuesday — January 4th and 5th — with former AMC stars Kelly Ripa and husband Mark Consuelos anchoring the festivities. On Monday, Hayley and Mateo — Kelly and Mark’s characters — return to Pine Valley with much fanfare. They’re there to film an episode of Hayley’s TV show, The Wave, because Pine Valley has been named “The Most Congenial Town in America.” Continue reading All My Children’s 40th anniversary, a salute to Pine Valley

The first question is: why would Jon Gosselin need publicity? This isn’t the Balloon Boy family. He’s got a fleet of paparazzi following him and he gets plenty of publicity whether he wants it or not. I feel kind of bad for Gosselin since he’s starting to have a string of high-profile sour relationships. This whole situation smells of bitter ex-girlfriend. If Gosselin needed additional publicity, all he would need to do is have sex with one of the Kardashians or perhaps one of the female cast members of Jersey Shore and let the tape “accidentally” fall into the hands of the press.

Even if MSNBC had done some publicity, it may not have helped. MSNBC daytime is a major problem for the network. They’ve been juggling and re-juggling the personalities, but nothing has worked. So while Dylan Ratigan is getting another slot on the channel, Dr. Nancy will return to her work as NBC’s chief medical editor doing the NBC News and Today. That means no more episodes of Tyra dressing up in a fat suit. No more episodes where Tyra makes us squirm with discussions of bodily functions and weirdness that we really don’t want to think about (let alone yet). And those are just the two episodes that I’ve seen. I’m sure you have your own memories of things that happened on the show. Banks says that she will now focus more on her movie production company Bankable Films. She says she will continue to do things that will keep women and girls “fierce.” Whatever that means. (Didn’t someone on Project Runway say that?) You’ll also get to see Banks on other shows, including The CW’s America’s Next Top Model and ABC’s True Beauty.

HBO has a True Blood marathon all night.
While we’ve all been struggling through this holiday lull in regular TV programming, soap fans can take solace in the fact that the action is still happening in daytime. No show has more action going for it right now than
For those who were unaware, Jon Gosselin, of Jon & Kate Plus 8 fame (or rather, infamy), had his New York City apartment ransacked during the holiday weekend. Evidence points to his new ex-girlfriend Hailey Glassman. Glassman is stating that
