† FROM DJ PAUL V. We all know how well the Germans are at making cars, beer, bratwurst and apple strudel. Add to the list - great mashups! Between them (and their Austrian neighbors), we’re up to our teeth with enough great bootlegs to fill Anne Frank’s diary. This week’s mash is a mega combo featuring Daft Punk, Lenny Kravitz, Jet, Hard-Fi, Maroon 5, Fort Minor, and Boomfunk MC’s - whew! But not to worry, as the mix is as shiny ‘n tight as Lederhosen. It comes from our Bootie Berlin boys known as Mashup-Germany, and more exactly a guy named Ben Stilller (yes, with 3 L’s). Turn it up and spread your wings!

oh my word! the caption to these pictures was reese witherspoon appeared quite sullen as she left a friend’s house whatever - that girl always looks like she’s pissed off and in a super bad mood! just how big is that stick is up her ass? hell - she won an academy award for best actress - and was married to hottie ryan phillipe - then she was doing it with cutie jake gyllenhaal for a long spell … i can’t see any reason why she has to appear like ‘debbie downer’ in practically every paparazzi picture taken of her! i’d tell reese to lighten the hell up and toss on a smile every once in awhile! for some reason she totally irks me - she might be a decent actress but her real-life persona is highly annoying - i know some of you guys out there must agree with me! no wonder jake’s single again (le sigh) one person can only put up with so much doom & gloom! (i have a friend that knew her back in nashville - and she had nothing nice to say about her - at all!) popbytes over & out for tonight … xoxo

From Nancy Kerrigan and Tonya Harding to “Toepick!,” we’ve long been suckers for a good ice skating drama. Luckily, ultra-fierce Johnny Weir rarely disappoints.
The men’s figure skater and star of new reality show “Be Good Johhny Weir” is under fire from animal rights group Friends of Animals for wearing a fox fur costume in a recent competition, the AP reports.
The group posted an open letter to Weir and contacted his costume designer, Stephanie Handler, to express their disgust at his use of fur and to ask him to stop wearing it, according to the source.
But something tells us they’re not going to like the skater’s response.
“I totally get the dirtiness of the fur industry and how terrible it is to animals,” Weir reportedly said.
“But it’s not something that’s the No. 1 priority in my life. There are humans dying every day. There are thousands if not millions of homeless people in New York City. Look at what just happened in Haiti.
“I tend to focus my energy, if there is a cause, on humans. While that may be callous and bad of me, it’s my choice.”
(Hear that? It’s the sound of a PETA member fainting.)
The costume in question was reportedly worn on Jan. 17 at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. Weir, who placed third, asked Handler to add the white fox fur along his shoulder before the competition, the source reports.
“He’s a role model for a lot of people, including other skaters,” Priscilla Feral (really?!), president of Friends of Animals, told the source.
“When he makes fun of the suffering of animals that are consumed for this frivolous fashion industry and whose lives are sacrificed so he can wear little tufts of fur on his outfit, that’s fair game for comment.”
Weir has reportedly also been targeted by PETA for his fur-wearing antics, but something tells us that a guy who does an ice skating routine to Lady Gaga’s “Poker Face” is the sort of person who skates to the beat of a different drum.
Meanwhile, check out Bethenny Frankel’s nude (and — gulp — pregnant) ad for PETA.

Here’s the first episode of the new FOX Reality Channel show Seducing Cindy (it debuts tomorrow night but Inside TV has an exclusive sneak peek). Margolis was the #1 girl on the web several years ago, and this new reality show will have a couple dozen guys vying for her affection.
I love how she’s looking for someone between the ages of 18 and 71 (why 71 and not 70 or 75?). So you could be Taylor Lautner or you could be Patrick Stewart and have an equal chance!

I’m really not sure what to say about this site. It’s called Selleck Waterfall Sandwich, and it’s devoted to…well, actor Tom Selleck, waterfalls, and sandwiches.
It’s not that the world hasn’t needed a site devoted to those three things. I’m just surprised no one thought of it sooner.

Lovers of Star Wars: The Clone Wars look forward to any new episode of their favorite show. But, when you add a certain mask and armor mix into any Star Wars story, the fans woof like wookies.
That collective hooting and hollering has never been any louder now that the Mandalorians are finally getting Star Wars canon screen time in tonight’s kick-off of a three-story arc, “The Mandalore Plot.” Dave Filoni, Clone Wars supervising director, hears those empassioned tones and knows the responsibility he’s facing.
“Ever since the first time we saw Boba Fett in 1980, the fans have known he had Mandalorian armor,” Filoni said during an interview at Lucasfilm’s HQ in San Francisco’s Presidio. “Fans have been waiting a long time to see the Mandalorians in action.”
“This is George Lucas’ universe and he’s very active in the show. So, it was George who suggested we bring the Mandalorians into the series.”

Joseph Abboud Apparel unveiled its new showroom for a crowd of more than 300 guests, many of whom were larger than life, literally.
And what started as a celebration of a new men’s clothing showroom quickly turned into a sports and fashion chatter-fest.
Former NBA players, actors and even a few football players turned up to show their support for company president Marty Staff, to size up each others’ clothes and chat about the Superbowl.
As you might not expect, talk turned to clothing, which had StyleList asking “What item should be eliminated from your closet?”
“The Sopranos” star Steve Schrippa wants to toss more than half his closet. “I just lost 22 pounds and I have all these huge shirts that my wife wants me to throw out,” he told StyleList. “I refuse. I’m afraid I’m going to get fatter again.”
Former castmate Michael Imperioli admitted to having a couple of jogging suits that would have been at home on “The Sopranos” set, “probably a velour track suit or two,” he nodded.
Former NBA player Allen Houston and Banks have suits they should toss. “I have a charcoal gray suede suit,” Houston told us. “It fits well, it’s nice, but it’s too hot. I think it’s out.”
Carl Banks’ bane is a double-breasted pinstripe Saville Row suit. “I probably should get rid of it. I had it tailored in London in ‘87,” he said. “It still fits, but it’s theatrically dandy. I can’t get rid of it because it’s too well-made.”
But Blair Underwood, who admitted to living in scrubs (even though he’s never played a doctor on TV) had the piece de resistance: a leather ski suit. “A black leather ski suit,” he corrected us. What we would give to see that.
Speaking of fashion faux — sometimes regrettable items in closets aren’t so bad, considering what just occurred at men’s fashion week.

The woman who sang “Let’s Get Loud” certainly applies the idea to her fashion. While out in Miami this week, Jennifer Lopez wore a floor-length multi-colored patterned dress that screamed for attention. Do you like the look, or is a bit too much? Weigh in on this dress, plus other celebrity outfits that pushed the envelope:

Wearing black is supposed to be slimming, right? Well… Jessica Simpson demonstrates one exception to the rule. Even though Jess has an enviable figure, these high-waisted pants only amplify her every curve, making hips and thighs look bigger than they really are. And yes, we know — she still looks great. We’re just saying that the hips (and crotch!) don’t need to be the central focus of the outfit.

“Gossip Girl” star Leighton Meester attended the opening of Klutch nightclub in Miami wearing one of her typical non-conformist outfits — a mini dress patterned with black circles. The dress featured a scandalously “open” chest area, and an unfortunately wide hip area.

At the after party for the “Sherlock Holmes” premiere, “Gossip Girl” star Blake Lively provided a little mystery of her own: What happened to the rest of her dress? The leggy star (as always) showed no hesitation about bearing her bod for all to see. Did this lacy mini dress reveal too much?

Britney Spears fits in a little shopping, perhaps because she’s run out of cool clothes? The star appeared a bit heavier than usual in some unflattering ankle-length pants, black and white socks, blue heels, and a spiderweb poncho. We hope it’s just an off day for Brit, and not a clue that the star has yet another bun in the oven!

Strike a pose. Designer John Galliano and models at the Christian Dior Spring 2010 Haute Couture show. Photo: Eric Ryan/Getty Images
The Spring Haute Couture shows kicked off in Paris yesterday and there have already been A-listers, ridiculously beautiful clothing, and awe-inspiring hair dye jobs!
It’s a glam time to be in the City of Lights for the couture shows are even more rarefied than ready-to-wear. The term haute couture literally translates to “high dressmaking” and the custom creations are among the finest in the world.
Here’s what went down on day one:
Celeb spotting: Kylie Minogue looked fabulous in a little gray dress at Christian Dior, while Dita von Teese rocked a black fox fur over her L.B.D. at the Alexis Mabille show and then slinked into a head-to-toe leather ensemble for Dior. Other front-rowers included Anne Hathaway at Armani Privé in strapless silver frock and sky high Christian Louboutin heels.
And taking it all in was 13-year-old American fashion blogger Tavi, who is reporting for Pop magazine. The petite tween took her preciousness to a new level by touching on the gray hair trend with newly dyed tresses. With her oversized glasses, the internet darling looked like a chic Sophia Petrillo!

Most eco-and-recession-friendly couture collection: Anne-Valérie Hash used secondhand garments donated by the likes of Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alber Elbaz and even rocker Pete Doherty to create an exquisite made-to-measure collection. Gaultier’s old sailor sweater was transformed into a black sequined jumpsuit, while Doherty’s military jacket was given new life as a frock coat. What a fabulous way to create an innovative new collection - and save on fabric costs!
Favorite beauty moment: Alexis Mabille’s collection featured bi-colored clothing and shoes of two different colors, but we especially loved the amazing two-tone hairdos: hair was parted down the middle, slicked into a pony and one side was dyed an outrageous shade - yellow, blue, red or fuchsia.

Best model moment: Irina Lazareanu walked the runway at Anne-Valérie Hash, sporting a cute Edward Scissorhands-esque cropped hairdo and a pointe shoe - on her hand.
Spectacle of the day: John Galliano never shies away from creating a fabulous over the top theatrical experience for his Dior Haute Couture collection. Today was no exception: the sound of pounding hooves signaled the equestrian-inspired show would begin. Models wore hunting jackets, carried riding crops, and sported veiled top hats (see above). Eveningwear took inspiration from Gibson Girl-era beauty, as models emerged clad in delicate cocktail dresses and sumptuous, sculpted gowns in frothy pastels and deep jewel tones. Galliano, never one to disappoint, took his bow in full dressage costume.
